2017 Eau Queer Film Festival Staff
Alyssa Rae Plano
The Eau Queer Film Festival is new to the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center program portfolio. Having sponsored this valuable high impact immersion experience in the past, Jorgenson is thrilled to take on this important program, which continues to propel UW-Eau Claire toward its goals of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity. With the continued help of Pam Forman and Ellen Mahaffy (the creators of the Eau Queer Film Festival), Jorgenson hopes to continue to build upon the festival’s rich history of Queer activism, education, and inspiration, making UW-Eau Claire a destination for potential LGBTQIA+ students.
When asked about taking on the Eau Queer Film Festival, Jorgenson had this to say: “It is my job, not only as a professional in higher education but as a gay man living in Eau Claire, WI to impress upon LGBTQIA+ students that they have worth, power, and the potential to change both their own lives and the lives of others. The Eau Queer Film Festival has and will continue to serve as a beautiful example of intersectionality, providing students (and faculty and staff) the opportunity to explore their own privileges and oppressions, so that we can learn how to move forward as a united and respectful community.” (Pronouns: He, Him, His)
